Hi Richard, Let me know what you think of the underbody aerial, I was thinking of getting one for my car. They are converting my Condor radio at the moment and I don't want to drill any holes in the bodywork.  Cheers Ade

Hi Ade

I have an under-floor aerial I bought for my Zagato some years ago but did not fit it as I was afraid it would be ripped off. It is brand new never fitted, a bit dusty because it has been hanging on the garage wall for 10 years. You are welcome to it for cost of postage. I eventually fitted an aerial I picked up in the USA on holiday which sticks to the inside of the screen, very unobtrusive and it works. Basically a length of sellotape with a wire running through it.

Cheers

Nigel

hi Nigel, thanks for highlighting the ground clearance issue with the standard size aerial.the manufacturer has now told me he will make one to fit the space i have available between the seat wells+ outer sill edge[100x1000mm].i did consider the alternative self adhesive type aerial which you mentioned but have heard that this item functions best with fm only so not suitable for my HMV.best rgards richard

I don't think I will have any clearence problems on the Aurelia as there is plenty of space next to the chassis strenghing rails (see photos of exhaust on Aurelia thread, Pininfarina Cabriolet history required.)

i have now received the recomended power inverter, but due to a misunderstanding with the supplier it turns out that it is not suitable for a positive ground radio/neg ground chassis. so if anybody has a use for a radiomobile/his masters voice 500T valve radio with matching transisterised amp suitable for a positive earth vehicle only it is now for sale/swap why.value £120.so also wont be going ahead with underbody aerial.have you fitted yours yet Ade?

I haven't fitted the aerial yet, I am working my way through a  list of things to do for the MOT, as of the present time 'a working radio' is not part of the MOT test!! although my radio is now ready for collection, so I shall collect it after Christmas. I will keep you all posted.
