Title: 1991 Lancia Delta Integrale 2.0 8v £4500
Post by: Mike8v on 02 October, 2009, 09:38:36 PM
Still not sure if I want to do this but Im getting fed up of owning this car.

As the title says, its got less than 60,000 miles on the clock and has just had a full engine rebuild within the last year or if you like less than 700 miles ago.
As some of you will know its just had the turbo fully rebuilt with a 360' bearing fitted.
The car has the benifit of being signed on the glovebox by the swedish lancia rally works team, making this kind of a rare car.
It has a touch screen cd/mp3 player.
Fully detailed engine bay.
Brand new camshafts
Head ported and Polished
Lightened flywheel
Full service history

Dose have a few bad points im afraid

Needs a new alternator
Oil is leaking from the exhaust studs and dripping on to the exhaust
Likes to rev up when you first start her up
the drivers seat bolster has worn through

This link is to the thread I made on retro rides, lot more pics an info of the car on this one

Hi Mike,
Afraid I'm not in the market for your Delta, but I did notice that under faults you listed oil leaking from exhaust studs and dripping on exhaust,
Are you sure that's where the oil is coming from?  I had the same problem on a 2.0 Dedra, in fact it wasn't coming from the exhaust stud, I was so convinced it was, I even changed the stud but it made no difference, it was actually the the front cambox to head gasket that was the problem, it was leaking on the extreme right as you look at the engine, there is an oil gallery that end from the front camshaft to the counter balancer shaft. somehow the leaking oil percolates, blows? back around the stud and it seems to be coming from there.

One of the exhaust studs leads straight into an oil gallery, it needs cleaning thoroughly on assembly and sealing with Loctite.

Matin, nice car, i reckon if taxed and tested, you should drive over to me in Aberystwyth from where you are on the A44 mountain road, great road for Lancias, then you can follow me in the Fulvia HF from Aber to Llangurig, and if you keep up  ::) then you would never sell it. ;)

Thanks for the responses, Its nice too see people wanting me too keep the car, kind of gives me a confidence boost which is something that I really need right now, as to the leaky oil situation.
I have changed the cam carrier gasket and used sealent on it so I would be supprised if that is it but intill I pull the rad off I wont know for sure.
The main reason for feeling so down on the car is that after paying someone to rebuild my engine then have it handed back to me with about a dozen faults and having to sort them out myself just constantly keeps my moral at an all time low.  But your words of encouragement have lifted my spirits.

As for rogerelias, very good suggestion.  I wasnt too far from you a couple of weekends ago, I was just about 10 miles from aberaeron at cycle mart.  Lovely drive but was hampered by my bro in law who was in his pajero, behind me (naturatly).

Mike, the invite is genuine,we don't get many Lancias around here, i think mine is the only in Ceredigion (county), ::) saying that i have seen a red Grale in Aberaeron by the harbour a couple of times, and there is a Stratos replica being built by someone i know about 4 miles away. You must be either a very keen cyclelist or remote control fan to come all that way to go to cyclemart. So if you know you are coming this way mail me and we could meet somewhere for a chat, the condition is you have to keep the car. Good grale man is Keith at autoquattro. Regards Roger

Didnt see the point of starting a new thread so have modified the old one.

Have come to the decision tht Im not happy with this Car so It has to go.

Have sorted the oil leak from the exhaust studs but is leaking from somewhere else aswell, I think its the oil filter mount (needs to be re-sealed).
It is MoT'ed till the end of April and Taxed till the end of April so can be driven away.
Has two New front tyres and new drivers side wheel bearing.

Sorry tht I havent got any pics on here but cant seem to post any as they are too big.

Its advertised at £4750 ono.
please get in touch if you want any more info
