Title: S 3 Brakes
Post by: ian on 09 June, 2009, 07:55:12 PM
Have been meaning to check out the hand brake mechanics on the coupe (S3) for a while now, as I know it would have failed the mot. So I removed the rear discs and shoes, had a good clean up and put it all back together again with relative ease  ;D What I thought was going to be a daunting task, turned out to be a nice job. First time I have tried it, so if I can have a go ,I recommend that anyone contemplating this job to have a go themselves. I had to make a small adjustment on the handbrake cable as the shoes are worn down to the bare minimum.....which brings me to the next subject. How much for a new set of shoes? I ask this as I have an offer from a friend whom works occasionally in Tanziner. He is able to get them relined for just a few pounds (if that!) but for this experiment I will need a few pairs of unwanted shoes. Not to sure when he will be traveling back to Tanziner, maybe not for a few months. If any one wants in let me know.
Haven't been on the forum for a while, been busy at work and bought a new toy........an MG F!  YE GODS!!!!   :o  (for the wife you understand :P)
