Title: Delta (831) column switch unit required
Post by: lancialulu on 06 June, 2022, 10:00:06 AM
My everyday Delta 1.6GTi.e. self cancelling mechanism has given up the ghost. A small bit of moulded nylon has broken after 200,000km.

Any one got a spare unit either complete or that can be cannibalised for the indicator unit part?

Is it this part number....5882516..often parts are orderable if you provide them with  a part number to save them searching, or if you are friendly with the local FIAT dealer then they should be able to look it up

I may have one, will need to look. Also may know someone who may have one..

Kevin

The Eper lists a few options. It is the later one that is for the GT i.e. (same unfortunately as integrale). Eper shows all out of stock… If you have a spare that would be great!

Pretty sure I have a spare column at the unit, I'll check next time up there at the weekend probably to see if it has the part on.

It isn’t much help but it is the same as the Testarossa. Useful to know at the breakers!

Thanks. The part is tiny and buried under 4 screws which springs apart..... Now highly valuable thanks  to Jai!!!

sorry no. I did not take one and it is back together with broken piece inside. The piece in question is a small white moulded nylon widget no more than 15mm wide. As I said it is unlikely to be separated from the overall mechanism whic any case springs apart when the 4 screws are undone. The unit will look like your 8v unit. I guess I would prefer a complete working unit…..

Think I was confused about where the cancelling ring would sit, I assumed it was a plastic sleeve that fitted onto the column and then the switch gear slid on top of it.
On reading back I assume it fits within the switch itself?
My spare column has no sleeve on it, there's a groove where it would sit so it would rotate with the steering but no sleeve.
Sorry.

Yes the sleeve is integral(e) with the switch. But that is not the bit that has failed. Another nylon moulded component inside the switch is the faulty bit……
