Title: What is the connection between Subaru and Lancia and Flat-4s?

I have heard many things, stealing the design, buying the rights, buying some engines, just happened to be similar etc etc..........
Anyone able to provide some detail  ???

I thought that someone in the club would know more about this one. I too have read it somewhere but can't think where?
