Title: Aurelia front bumper and wheels - UPDATE ' bumper now sold!
Post by: 2VKP on 06 March, 2022, 11:34:19 AM
Hello everyone,

A number of spares came with my car that are surplus to requirements; notably a front bumper, a pair of wheels and a couple of pairs of tail light assemblies.

The bumper is in good, undented condition, though it needs complete re-plating - I'm not sure if it's series specific, but my car is a 3rd series. UPDATE: now sold!

The wheels are structurally solid, but have been 'functionally' repaired in the past, where the centres meet the outer rims - I'm not sure from what series they are, or whether they're original - dimensions are 16 x 6 inches.

I do know they were used by John Savage for racing, at a time when originality is not perhaps what it is now.

I do also have 2 pairs of Carello tail lights of the type more often seen on Alfa's, Guiletta's especially.

More photographs on request.  No reasonable offers refused - collection from Oakham in Rutland.

Perhaps the wheels were altered to accomodate imperial size tyres?  Richard

I suspect you're absolutely right Richard. John often referred to the shortage of suitable tyres back in the 80's. Thankfully things are rather different now.

Just incase two more similar wheels turn up, does anyone here know if they fit Flaminia PF Coupes successfully? I did see such a modification at the Sussex LMC BBQ on a Flaminia PF Coupe. Richard

Those of us who have raced Aurelias usually use(d)  15" wheels so Dunlop or other 'control' or specified tyres can be used. Often the wheels were Aurelia centres with Flavia or Rover outers welded on although more recently, newly manufactured 15" wheels which fit have become available.
