Title: Fulvia S1 Coupe for Sale
Post by: garwyn on 17 December, 2020, 04:20:25 PM
Hello All,

I'm thinking of selling my S1 Fulvia Coupe and was wondering if anyone was interested in buying it ? The details are as follows:

Build date approximately November 1965.
Spent the first two years of its life in Singapore, then returned to the UK (original import documents included).
It underwent significant work at Omicron in 2005 and 2006 (all documented).
The current mileage is approximately 58,000 miles.
It has an MOT valid until March 2021 (no advisories).
In March of this year I had it serviced at Auto Integrale, near Reading, when it was:
- converted to run on electronic ignition,
- the carburettors were rebuilt,
- the engine tuned,
- a new steering arm put on,
- the rear main oil seal replaced.

The only real faults are some slight loss of coolant, a little brake fluid leaking from the reservoir and some reluctance to start from cold. However it drives very nicely.

My reason for selling is that, with work, I don't have the time and expertise to look after it properly to enjoy it for the great car that it is.

Although I've only only owned it a year, I'd prefer to sell to someone in the LMC as I appreciate all the advice and help I've had from being a member.

It is located in Hampshire. I don't really know how much to ask, so would be open to offers.

Thanks.

That's a nice looking Fulvia.
Does it have its original engine and has there been much bodywork attended to?
Chris

Thanks Simon.

Hi Chris,

Yes, approximately £25,000 was spent on it at Omicron in 2005 and 2006. I have the original Omicron invoices describing what was done to the bodywork, engine, suspension etc. In terms of the former, here's a sample of the work done:

- New inner and outer sills and subframe mounting boxes.
- New repair sections in the wheel arches and lower parts of front and rear wings (both sides).
- New front and rear jacking points.
- PU sealing of body weld seems.
- Boot lid repaired.
- Wax injection of vulnerable areas.
- Glass out respray including priming with 3 coats of grey 2-pack primer.

I believe it has the original engine, or at least the engine number matches what was on the original import documentation from Singapore into the UK  in 1967.

I hope that helps ? Sorry, I'm not an expert in restoration, so what I've written above is just a sample from the invoice from Omicron.

Thanks,

Gareth.

Good luck with the sale Gareth. A beautiful example of a rare car, one of the best I have seen and if circumstances were different I would buy it in a flash.
