I think black & silver plates should not be displayed on cars registered after 31st July '73 (following 'L'- reg). IMO they just don't look right on Beta Coupe's/HPE's/Spider's/S2 Sedans, Gamma's, Montecarlos etc especially if they have the more modern (post 2001) type lettering as a lot do.

As I say it's just my opinion but surely we should attempt to keep our cars as original as is reasonably & practicably possible?

It's distressing that they couldn't see the conflict when making the historic vehicle regulations but given their inability to announce the change in coherent English it is perhaps unsurprising.
