Title: Engine Torque settings
Post by: rutley1 on 24 September, 2020, 10:09:41 AM
Can anyone tell me the correct torque settings for the engine re-assembly please ?  This should include big ends and main bearing bolts.  Many thanks in anticipation.

AFAIK no torque settings have ever been published for the Augusta engine.
I suggest the following:
Big-end bolts: +/- 25 Nm to align the nuts for the split pin.
There are no main bearing bolts. The centre support has a conical location bolt on the R/H side and is pinched by a 10 mm nut on a stud accessable throught the oil drain. Torque as by standard practice.
Rear main bearing carrier: 6 ea 10 mm studs. Again torque by standard practice, secure by tab washers.
Cylinder head bolts: for my engine I use 85 Nm working up in several steps starting at 30Nm. Tightening order x-wise starting in the middle.

I believe the club library has a translation of "Conseils Pratiques" which gives a good insight of the works on an Augusta/Belna.
