Has anyone found a good solution to attaching the furry weather strips to the chrome trim?
I have taken the trim off and removed the old strip that was stapled on, but clearly a special tool and staples would be needed to attach this way.
The supplier gave me a couple of helpful suggestions, but thought I would see what success others have had with this task.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Sean - It would be worth having a chat with Tony Jones.  I've got his contact details if you need them.  He's just fitted his using an adhesive - Delta Tru-Flex.  It's an adhesive he's been using for years in marine applications.  He drilled a lot of small holes to give plenty of grip for the adhesive.

I'm about to do mine and was planning to follow Tony's process. It will be interesting to see if anyone suggests other solutions.

I did mine 15 years ago using tiny countersunk stainless self tappers as this was advised by Omicron. The screws go deep into the “fur” so no danger of scratching the glass.

Struggling to find such very small screws.

I’ve just done one door by remaking the staples from wire. A lot of effort and I’m not that happy with the result, so it would be good to know of a successful alternative.

I sourced through a local fastner co. But I suspect you can buy on ebay after careful research (try Spalding Fastners - they have a huge range of stainless stuff).

I will try the screws first and if no joy will go for the adhesive solution.

Hi Sean - I decided to use adhesive plus 3 small screws each side to prevent any chance of "drift" over time.  I've just posted the approach I used on my "Slow Fulvia Rebuild" thread.

For those of us that have yet to tackle this chore, what size screws are being used?  Thanks.

I've looked at your thread and appreciate the detail there.
I got hold of some 2.2*6.5mm screws through Bolt base on Amazon . (Very cheap)
However I need to drill some holes as they don't quite screw into the moulding as is...that was too much to hope for.
I think I will also go for the adhesive fix with some additional fixing screws but am concerned about damaging the trim.
Not had the chance to complete the task yet, I'll let you know how I get on.
