Title: Getting up to speed with Fulvia coupes
Post by: MattK on 05 March, 2020, 07:04:39 PM
I've recently joined the LMC and am busy learning about Fulvia Coupes.
It would be great to speak to owners who are willing to show me around their vehicles, so that I can continue my education before eventually buying!
I'm based close to the Hampshire/West Sussex border and can travel a sensible distance to meet.
Cheers Matt

Welcome Matt, you have a choice of local meetings as listed in the back of our magazine, Viva Lancia. I try to get to the Hampshire Meeting in Kings Worthy and most of the attendees own or know Fulvias well and the same is probably true for the Kent-Sussex Meeting. Also, if you need workshop manuals or user guides, I am the Club Librarian and we have a lot of information you may find useful, see my email address under Useful contacts in VL. Chris

Its a big country, and while the south is dry its bandit country and a looong way home.  Many have had success buying in Italy and driving home.  There are a couple of specialists who do it regularly.

Anyway - its great window shopping.

Perhaps decision 1 is RHD or LHD.  If it HAS to be RHD the choice is greatly limited.  Some come in from South Africa, with their own issues...

If the decision has already been made for "a Fulvia" how did you get to that point?

Thanks David and Chris. Went along to the Hampshire meet earlier this week but no Fulvia coupe owners attended this time.
Will try the Surrey and Sussex meets as well and of course the track day at Goodwood.
Not fussed whether LHD or RHD tbh and interested to learn more about people importing.
Cheers Matt

No connection, not sure I've even met them, but this father and son team bring cars in.

There's someone in Essex who brings them in, I've half a memory of them doing it with clients in convoy with their transporter and trailer, but the name escapes me...

Don't pay that money.  Someone here might have a copy for sale at a sane price.

I would try to get a copy of the Fulvia Journal produced by the UK Lancia Motor Club in the 1970s. It has a blue cover and there were 2 editions although I have never been aware of any difference in them - maybe just a reprint?
All about Fulvias though.

Surrey and Sussex meetings both have Fulvia members usually present, the weather this time if year might put a few of them off! Also I’m aware of a member in the Surrey area with 2 ex - South African Fulvia for sale, pm if you would like further details.

Hi Matt - I have a large number of articles related to choosing and buying a Fulvia on my laptop.  If you want to send me a memory stick and self addressed envelope through the post I'll be happy to download them for you - free of charge.  Send me an e-mail if you're interested and I'll let you have my address.
Cheers, Norm Thomas

Just stumbled on them on facebook with pics of a Flavia Berlina they'd brought in.  They're the one in Essex.
