Title: Link between Lancia, Pininfarina & XK120 Post by: Flamfan on 03 November, 2019, 03:08:47 PM Not sure if this has already been posted, but tells the story of a
link between a champion cyclist, the 2nd World War, Pininfarina, a beautiful Lancia and the Jaguar XK120. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eZaDLDccyVo Title: Re: Link between Lancia, Pininfarina & XK120 Post by: mikeC on 03 November, 2019, 06:20:48 PM It makes a good story, but the Jaguar XK120 was launched about the same time as this Aprilia was built; the XK120 design can be linked back to a pre-war Jaguar SS100 coupe, which in turn can be linked to other Italian coachbuilt cars of the late 1930s ... Basically there was a common design theme running through several makes and models way before this Aprilia saw the road.

Some of this design lineage goes back to the BMW 328 of the 1930's, a Schuco clockwork version of which I had when I were a lad. Mike |
