Title: Handbrake cable replacement Post by: andyps on 10 April, 2019, 09:52:22 PM The handbrake cable on my S2 Sport snapped at the weekend. Am I right in thinking the hubs need to come off to replace it? I rebuilt all the rear brake components but none of the photos I took clearly show if the cable is inside the drum or operates on a lever outside the back plate.
The cable snapped whilst moving the car on the end of a tow rope on our sloping drive. It was being moved to allow access for a new garage being built to house the car so I'm just needing to decide whether to wait until the car is in the garage or replace the cable first.
