Title: Flavia Transverse Exhaust Box
Post by: colinw on 14 March, 2019, 06:43:34 AM
My 1966 PF 1800 Coupe is in need of a new exhaust. The transverse one before the straight one and exhaust pipe itself.
I have an offer of one from Imasaf which is lined both sides (inside and out) with aluminium for anti - corrosion reasons and an offer from Lancia Vintage both from Italy.
I would welcome any advice or experiences from others who may have been down the same road and had to replace this box.
Many thanks, Colin

I have found IMASAF products to be very good.....and if you go to their factory they will fit a new exhaust system for a nominal price.

Colin,

Like Chris, I have found the IMASAF systems to be really good. I fitted one to my 815 Coupe a few years ago, and it fitted perfectly without having to "adjust" it, and it is still going well.

It`s an easy job on our cars, but I would recommend getting the rear box as well whilst you are about it, as it doesn`t cost that much more and makes the fitting a whole lot easier as you are only going to have to separate one end.

The IMASAF exhaust that I had fitted to my Beta last year is excellent. Good value too, especially if you have the time to wait for the free shipping.

Thanks to all for your positive responses though I am still waiting for a price from IMASAF. Free delivery, Neil, this seems a perfect thing just what a Yorkshireman likes to read!
Replacing the rear box too sounds more than sensible, thanks Bob.
Does anyone know of Lancia sympathetic fitters in reach of Bognor Regis?
Thanks to all

Probably a bit late to add this comment/suggestion...the exhaust is held on by Allen screws onto the head. These can be a devil to reinsert. Suggestion is to screw threaded studs into the head. It is then easier to locate the gaskets and to start the nuts.
Sometimes the curve of the pipe is quite tight and you might have to start the nuts with the flange not
fully against the head.
I have an Imasaf exhaust on my Flavia 2000 coupe and it is a very well made piece of work.
