Title: FI Flavia Sport
Post by: brian on 10 January, 2019, 04:14:40 PM
I suppose all have seen the FI Flavia Sport for sale that was owned by Roger Balkwill in the 80s. It was always a nice car and looks to have been very well sorted. £66k is probably a little optimistic but not very far off real value.

What is the link?

Is it MMV1C? For sale at a couple of dealers? This one looks like twin carb.

Where is the FI (was it converted to twin carbs?)?

I like the colour combination, but what is the FI reference?

Where is the FI (was it converted to twin carbs?)?

All Flavia Sports were fitted with a twin carb engine, Tipo 815 500. Officially upto chassis number 1497 with Solex carbs, producing 95 Bhp. After chassis 1497 with Weber carbs and 105 Bhp.  There are however cars known upto chassis 1515 with Solex carbs.  You can tell the difference when looking at the engine, as the air cleaner is turned through 90 degrees on the Weber carb engines.

If we are being pedantic, perhaps I should have said 'All carburettor Flavia Sports (Including 1500cc) had twin carbs'  but you knew what I meant  ;)
