How much was it worth when you owned it. How long ago was that?

I bought a Porsche 356 A in 1999 for £15k. Sold it in 2009 for £34k. Good increase although I did spend a lot restoring it.

BUT I heard it sold on again last year. This time for £89k. Prices are completely mad now!

Year 2000 £1500 but did need most things refurbishing apart from the glass and gearbox. It did come with a large amount of spares. 1996 JLG65K was £600 minus engine and minus most of the metal below the waistline

And here are some photos of RRO looking good at Brands Hatch in September 2011. At that time it had a 'for sale' notice and I think Richard sold it soon after.

Bumpers make a big difference in looks. Aggressive and racy without and looking at home on a track while with bumpers it would look at home outside a stylish restaurant. JLG now in New Zealand as far as I know.

.          Thoroughbred & Classic Cars price guide May 2000 suggests £1750 for a rough series 1. (Rough Aurelia B24 Spyder convertible £12,000) perhaps I should have got one of those

The asking price may not be realistic. I looked and and found Richard's advertsiement for the car in June 2010 - see below:

"For sale  my fulvia sport s1 1300S ,45000 miles red professional repaint with green wilton carpets, west of england headlining, reupholstered front seats,5J steel wheels+originals, uprated radiator, oil cooler removed, subframe never welded, bare metal restoration with all parts repaired/reconditioned/replaced as necessary 7 years ago, slight pitting at bottom edge of doors,no dents, everything working, see page 16 Viva Lancia feb 2004 /also brands hatch masters recent thread for pics.selling to buy a saloon to accomodate family. not a concours show car as is used weekly in good weather[3000 miles since rebuild]. also many spares-new wheelbearings, balljoint, track rod ends,instruments,s2 wiring loom, pair ally doors+rear hatch[paint stripped]all glass except screen, driveshafts, factory parts book, manuals, front spring, steering box,s2 heads-one with vernier cams, spare cams,blocks,s2 low milage engine which i have had running very well before removing from another car[no 1600 parts available]car and parts all dry stored in my ownership price £10,500 or panels available seperately.maidstone kent 07957 292127 best regards richard".

At the time I thought RRO should have commanded a higher price than £10,500. It would be interesting to see what it eventually sells for now.
