Title: Aprilia Gearlever Boot
Post by: Martin9 on 18 August, 2018, 04:36:03 PM
I attach a pic of the gear lever in my Aprilia 38-3999 which I bought in November 2016 from the buyer at an Artcurial Auction at Le Mans in 2014.

I feel that there should be e.g. a rubber boot which locates on the frame on the transmission tunnel and blocks the hot air and smells coming back from the engine, but I cannot find any reference to such a thing on the on-line manual that I have.

I'd be very grateful if members could tell me what shoud be there and, better still, where to procure one.

Many thanks from  an old but enthusiastic owner.

Martin

A good thought, but prior to putting up my appeal I did look at the Cav website and I saw nothing like this.

If I'm wrong or out of touch, do shout - I ain't proud.

Cicognani has the pieces you need (Cuffia superiore)
Check their website, easy to find, then under Lancia and Aprilia.

I am sure you need a rubber boot/ gaiter to block up that gap, but I can remember a time when running an Aprilia in the winter we welcomed warm air coming up from the gearbox tunnel and we put up with the fumes. Happy days!

The cuffia superiore covers the domed base of the gear lever. To fill the rectangular void you need in addition Cicognani part 13200304 called in English on his site 'gear rectangular housing', offered at Euro 38.
