I read that some are plastic and don't stand up well to modern fuels. Are the plastic ones older models since replaced with real glass?

I bought one some years ago thinking it was glass (looked like it), but it wasnt a stored fuel over the winter made it soften so the clamp lost its tension and it leaked. The distributor sent me a glass bowl foc....
