Title: Repair in greater London area
Post by: HPE1984 on 02 August, 2018, 03:27:35 PM
Hello all,

I recently bought a Lancia Beta HPE 2.0. i.e. in continental Europe, and I'm now bringing it with me to the UK, as I just moved to London. I'm looking for a garage that can help me sort out the ignition system of the car (it's either the electronic control unit, the ignition coil or the tension leads that are gone) and was hoping that somebody on the forum could give me recommendations for mechanics/repair shops.

Many thanks in advance!

Jakob

Hi,
I have a 1983  HPE 2000 ie. Prior to my ownership a lot of work was done by Day & White who are Fiat group specialists and I believe operate from a unit at Brands Hatch racecourse in Kent. Check out their website, they may be able to help.

If John Day hasn't retired yet he certainly knows his stuff.

Hansom as ever ;)   He's far right.  "You are welcome to visit us, share a freshly made tea or coffee (in a mug) and we can chat about how we can best help you."     The Plough in Eynsford is a bit big but its a pretty village and my favourite in that area.

In Catford SE London "Gonnella Brothers" has been there since 1979, I think it should really be called "Gonnella Cousins" now.  I drive past fairly regularly and there's often something older and interesting there.  They mention "Fiat 500s old and new" and a couple of older cars on the website.

Not sure I could recommend a pub in Catford...
