Title: Aprilia rebuild - gears and wing beading
Post by: peterblenk on 21 June, 2018, 10:25:11 AM
The smaller gear from my first gear pair (12 teeth) is too worn. Can anyone supply a new one? Would there be interest in having some made? Mine is the two-shoulder type (16.2 and 12.6mm). The larger gears (27 teeth) is available from Cavalitto at £250.
Does any one know of a source of aluminium colour vinyl (or ally) wing beading?

I did have one made a few years ago but it was not sufficiently hard and failed after a year.  Here, however, is the drawing.   Simon gave me a better used gear than my original but if you do go into making some new ones I will certainly like to have one for my cupboard.

Thank you. I will pass your drawing to the company that is cutting the new gears. Who is Simon?

Do you know from what material your gear was made from? Do you know the Rockwell hardness?

I am taking note of your interest. I suspect others will be interested, too, as this small gear must be worn in many gearboxes.

No I don't but it was insufficient.   The gear takes huge stress!  Simon is simonandjuliet.
