Title: Flavia & 2000 Consortium AGM
Post by: brian on 23 April, 2018, 08:10:41 AM
Had a good day out yesterday with the Sport. met up with hundreds - well - over 10 - Flavias and 2000s at the de Haviland Air Museum. Glorious sunshine. Lots of comparing notes and discussions on flat 4 minutiae. Phil and Colin organised interesting discussion about the future development of the Consortium and it was good to hear so much positivity about this and how we should and could have good LMC-Consortium interaction.
Not yet discovered how to take photos off my telephone as I had forgotten my camera but perhaps others might oblige!
Brian.
PS. I was especially delighted to see the Flavia saloons as I think they are the most underrated Lancias ever made. Discuss!!

Brian,
Ref your comment about Flavia Saloons being underrated ( I am sure you are correct as this runs across all  50's and 60's Lancia models I think), I speak from experience having been a Fulvia owner of all types continuously since 1971  that this is certainly the case with Fulvia Saloons, particularly the S1 versions which were so well built.
Chris

Its a favourite museum, for all I didn't actually go in this time, but it was a most convivial two hours in the car park (and sunshine!!!) and pulling in to see three in a line including Colin's Zagato I was already pleased I'd made the trip.  (Colin is usually in something big enough to bring bits and bobs for everyone else - so I expect a rare treat for him also to see his car in the line).

As ever good to put names to faces, for all I confess that this morning I'd be almost as hopeless trying to make those matches again, so "sorry" in advance of next time everyone...

Junction 22 - closed mondays but 10:30 to 5:00 every other day.

The "cinema advert" is too cheesy for words, but here's a 10 min "walk through" which has gone too far the other way with the soporific music but it soon cuts to a voice over.  My favourite bit is being able to handle sections of structure that have been removed during restoration.  It was a lighter ply and thinner core than I expected.
