Title: Changing Steering Wheel Airbag
Post by: Paul Greenway on 30 November, 2017, 09:23:13 PM

I have just purchased a Lancia Delta Steering Wheel centre which contains the Airbag. I want to remove the current Chrysler Delta centre & replace with the Lancia item. Everything except the badging appears to be exactly the same so I am assuming that the contents & wiring are all the same and it will be a straightforward exchange.

Does anyone know the procedure of swapping one for the other? All advice welcome, thanks.

Paul

Was told this was a main dealer job? Old airbag needs to be deactivated. Hence only Chrysler badge still on my Ypsilon .

There are videos on youtube about doing the job. It doesn't seem to require any special equipment just the right safety precautions. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hadsvt17Fj0

Mines being exchanged tomorrow along with the grille at an independent Volvo dealers that Claire swears by. Will tell you how it went.

Both original OE Lancia airbag steering wheel and OE Lancia 'Momo' grille fitted to my Delta. No problem £55.00 for the privilege - money well spent. Photo's to follow once it gets light.
