Not exactly what you are after but my 1950 B10 could be available at the right price?

If you find something that's been stripped for spares I have a heap of spares that might complete "a kit".

Thanks David, I do have a restoration project to look at which might be lacking a few bits.
I wasn't looking for a B10 Charles, although I had seen a B21 on the web that sounded interesting. Tell me more about th B10! Ade

1950 model - the car featured in Classic and Sportscar and Classic Car magazines in 2000.
Complete overhaul by Omicron last year and MOT until July next year. Over £5,000 spent in the last twelve months. I am sure Martin Cliffe at Omicron will give you an unbiased opinion!
I have some pictures taken yesterday morning in my garage - I will send them to you.

Chas,
I would be interested to see the photos of your B10 as I have promised myself an Aurelia saloon one day.
What bodywork has been done to the car etc.Whereabouts are you?
Chris

I'm afraid I sold it, but it was nice while I had it, but funds were needed for the B50 Cabriolet restoration and a chap from Holland offered me a good price so ........
Here's a pic.

Yes it was very good, there were only a few very minor things needed to make it perfect.
I will let you know if I find anymore on the market. What are you looking for, and dare I ask what sort of budget do you have?

looks better and better!i should have had a look.current funds amount to good condition fulvia sport S1 possibly for sale +inheritance from grandmother if any.obviously purchase price is one thing and future costs another-quite experienced with fulvias but an aurelia may be a different challenge

I don't think the Aurelia should cost much more than a Fulvia to run as long as you don't have major problems with engine or transmission, don't forget there is a wealth of knowledge and help available should you buy one.
I was also in the situation of owning Fulvias and wondering if having an Aurelia was going to be too much of a challenge, but with the help many club members soon found how to tackle various jobs. Just get someone who knows Aurelias to have a look over any car you are thinking of buying.

For a generation Aurelias were run on shoe strings by DIY mechanics, and if anything its easier to do that now than ever before.   In terms of "big problems" I sold a gearbox for 300.   As for engines all the parts are available new which makes the second hand bits "paper weight" prices.   I had a couple of sets of pistons and liners in usable condition from engines when people thought "having spent all this money on labour I may as well put new bits in".

As Kevin has said, they are not difficult to work on.  They are pretty basic, all fairly obvious, but different.   For example the pot joints have few parts, make few demands, but are different.  The clutch is weak on a hot B20 but easy to get to and on a saloon I imagine no issue.  Propshaft balance is critical but odds are it will be fine, if not there's a few places to get it fixed.  Problems like brake judder will 9 times out of 10 be due to a lack of use.

I'd love another...  As the years roll on the saloons have almost as much appeal as the GTs for all an SII B20 with a column change and bench would be my "just won the lottery" choics..  Must say that early saloon at the AGM was spectacular, and that blue one in the pics gorgeous.   Any chance of a dashboard picture?

David,

I think ‘that blue one’ might have been Ron Francis’s 1951 Stabilimenti-Farina bodied Aurelia, which quite rightly won an award in the Concours. If so, see snaps below.

Colin,

The "blue one"  meant is XER 350 pictured in this thread.  Its just the right blue, sits so nicely, has those "waterfall" headlights and what I assume are aluminium bumpers.  The wing/bonnet alloy trim is lovely as well, as on Appias.

I know the Aprilia is your favorite but for me that era was Lancia's peak - just before the money ran out and they realised why nobody else built cars that way...

There is a B10 (although it is listed as a B51) saloon for sale on the Germany classic car web site mobile.de  The body looks OK and the interior is original, although I think (German not too good) it needs engine work. Asking price £15,500.
