Title: eBay fun
Post by: williamcorke on 07 September, 2022, 12:41:46 PM
Now this is a new one for me; breaking a model car and selling the parts separately. Will this catch on?

Why not buy a complete car like the blue one at the top rather than a set of wheels? Perhaps because you've promised your partner you won't buy any more cars...

Just like the real thing if a low value model has broken or missing parts it is almost worthless, but you can still make some money from selling parts to someone else with a damaged model. In this case the complete car is on offer for £12 whereas the separate engine, wheels, bumpers and transaxle ore offered for a total of £15. Wheels particularly from these tend to go missing and are common to a range of models. I actually have one with a missing rear light and it would make more sense to pay £3 for replacement lights than £12 for a whole replacement car.

Perhaps buy the model parts, scale them up to full size and print on a 3D printer  :D
