Title: Our Ypsilon - just to share information
Post by: Chris Hopkins on 10 November, 2022, 11:56:32 AM
If your mileometer flashes, USB connector stops working and most seriously your Blue Tooth handsfree phone connection stops working, if clearing the electronic codes does not cure it, then you will apparently need a new "convergence unit" at £800.12 according to our local Fiat Dealer in Swindon. You guessed it, as we are nearing 100,000 miles on ours, we will not be spending that but looking around for a clip-on blue tooth gadget instead.   Anyone had any similar experience; the unit is used in other Fiat models too.

Purchased a Fiat 500s a few months back and had all the problems which you are experiencing. I purchased a second hand blue and me ecu from ebay for about £50, off of a punto I believe as it was the same. Then had it re aligned to the car and hey presto all is good.

I have just reinstalled the Blue & Me unit after it was repaired for £95 by Revtronics in Bradford.  It is situated in the driver's side footwell on the outside and is held in place by 4 x 8mm hex nuts but you also need to remove the 10mm bolt holding the frame in place to give you enough movement to slide the unit off the fixed studs, highlighted by the yellow arrow.  Take care with the blue connector, the black latch holding it in is a good design to ensure accurate location, and does not need any force to remove or replace it.  You can still use the car when the Blue & Me unit is removed.
