Thanks a lot for the heads up - I've emailed Dave.

Yes I did contact Omicron back in 2021 and got a outline quotation but after a few chases re availability to start work I never heard back. To be fair I got the impression they were mega busy and I wasn't 100% motivated at the time to push it hard enough, so left it. I may get back in contact with them also given they are very capable and aren't far away from me.

I think Richard has pinpointed the problem. Take the hose off the front of the housing and the stat is staring at you. My money is that the bleed hole is blocked.

I have just removed my dash and lower crash pad to access the upper side panel to investigate any rust from a leak in the bottom corner of windshield on the passenger side. (Light surface rust only).Removing all this was not difficult but very fiddly. Whilst off I could fix non working trip meter. For information on the Sport (LHD) the knurled nut securing the passenger side of the facia panel is accessed from underneath the dash, not the glove box.
Whilst the facia panel is out I would like to refurbish it as it has faded in places. I do not think it is varnished. What is the best procedure to getting it back to the original look? My plan was to lightly sand it, stain and then polish. Would this work and what shade of wood stain should I use?
If anyone has undertaken this task I would appreciate some tips and hints.
Thanks

Latest update from Dan, he's doing a sterling job  Cool
Other than the red oxide painted rear floor pans the vast majority of this has been made from scratch, front floors all through to the toe boards, the cross member for the seats to bolt down to, inner sills pieces.
Really chuffed with his work.
I'm going to his place in a week or two so we can fit the outer sills then it will be coming back to me, I'll finish off the other bits and pieces like the rear panel refitting and repairs to the front end and windscreen surround.

Can the sealant block the bleed hole?

Thanks Both

Good job I read this before going further ( one nut removed other found but top seems secure at LHS.

My car has a tripmeter bolted thru the non original I think wooden dash! Think I can get that off then the dash.  (Not guilty but bought for competition).

Hi Brian,

Thanks very much. I've never had an overheating issue until the rad seal was added. I'll drain some out tomorrow back to the level its always been and re-asses.
My gauge is always floating between bang in the middle and about 2/3rd across the dial as the stat is opening and closing i guess.
2000 miles to Turin sounds a good trip.
Thanks again
Best
nigel.

Agreed!

But what do you do with it?
Restore (only mechanically) and drive it?
Or put it in a museum?
